Have you ever watched something collapse and it had collateral damage? That is what our lives can look like if we build our lives on foundations other than Jesus. During this message, Pastor Kevin Simmons will give us ways on how to build a stronger foundation for our lives so they won’t collapse.

Have you ever built a sandcastle at the beach? How long did it last before it collapsed? In the Bible, Jesus tells us a parable about building a house on the right foundation. During this message, Pastor Kevin Simmons speaks on how the foundation we build our life on matters.

10 YEARS! This Sunday, we are celebrating 10 years of Vortex existing as a church in Albemarle, NC. During this message, Pastor Kevin Simmons is reflecting over the “old rules” ten years ago that we had as a church. We are looking at the NEW RULES of the game today!

This Sunday we will get to hear from nine people who are on staff at Vortex Church. Each person will have five minutes to speak. You do not want to miss out!

Jonathan Pearson currently serves as the Executive Pastor of Springwell Church in Greenville, SC. Jonathan and Pastor Kevin have a friendship that goes back well over a decade. Jonathan was one of the first leaders to believe in the vision of Vortex Church. He has served as one of our Overseers, a board of Pastors from around the country that oversee Pastor Kevin, since we started almost a decade ago. Jonathan is one of the best young leaders in the church today, and we are honored to have him with us to speak!

This week in our series On The House, Shane Olsen is speaking! Shane lives in beautiful Beaufort, SC with his wife Lisa and their kids Ally, Chase, and Monte. Shane and Lisa planted Decibel Church in 2014, and Vortex Church got to be an ally and partner! Pastor Kevin and Shane share a unique friendship, and Pastor Kevin serves Decibel, representing our church, as one of their Overseers. Shane always brings a passion for people, life, and God as he communicates, and we can't wait to have him with us today!

This week in our series On The House, Jason Burgbacher is speaking! Jason helps lead one of the largest churches in the Charleston, SC region. Faith Church grew significantly under his father, Larry Burgbacher's leadership. Faith is the very first church that Pastor Kevin Simmons worked at - as an intern when he was in college! Over the past few years, Jason and Pastor Kevin have regained a friendship first forged when they were at Faith Church over 20 years ago! Jason's insight into the workings of a growing church have been so helpful for us, as a church! We know you're going to enjoy hearing from him today.

During our On The House series this month, we are inviting some guest speakers to come in and speak. Today, we are hearing from one of our good friends Ronny Russell.  Ronny serves as one of Vortex’s Overseers. Ronny served as a local pastor here in Stanly County for over 30 years. He has a huge heart for local and global missions.

Have you ever questioned God before? Have you ever asked the question, “How can a good God allow this kind of evil?” In this week’s message, Pastor Kevin Simmons is diving into the book of Habakkuk to look at how Habakkuk humbly asked God the questions he had in a time of suffering and chaos.
